They come packaged with air tickets, airport to ship transfers. hotels and cars. Choosing a cruising trip During the winter season, most cruises are offered in the Caribbean, with certain itineraries through the Panama Canal. In the summer, some ships are repositioned to Alaska and Europe. Most firstâ€"time cruisers choose a Caribbean cruise of sevenâ€"days in the winter. You have many choices, but let‘s focus on departure ports and itineraries. The Caribbean is split into three priâ€" mary areas. ‘east‘ and ‘west‘ departing from Florida ports (usually Miami or Ft. Lauderdale) and ‘south‘ departing from San Juan. Sevenâ€"day cruises generally stay within one area, while 10 to 14 day cruises will cover a broader territory. as San Juan, St. Thomas, and St. Maarten, spend 2 to 3 days ‘at sea‘ and may have a ‘beach party day‘ at their own private island in the Bahamas. ‘East‘ cruises depart Florida on Saturday or Sunday, visit 3 islands such ‘West‘ cruises are similar with difâ€" ferent ports of call, usually Jamaica (Ocho Rios or Montego Bay), Grand Cayman and Cozumel, Mexico. ‘South‘ cruises are more port intenâ€" sive, visiting 5 or 6 ports in a 7â€"day cruise. Departing San Juan (where you may also add a preâ€" or postâ€"hotel stay), your ports of call may include St. Thomas. St. Maarten, Antigua, Martinique, Barbados, La Guairaâ€" Caracas. Curacao and more There is a cruise to suit every vacaâ€" tioner and budget, for families, for adventurers. for those who wish to party or those looking for a quiet escape.
