Concert Band looking for members and venues The band, which just happens to be Canada‘s oldest community conâ€" cert band, has an extensive reperâ€" Among past venues at which the Concert Band has performed include Coronation Park â€" where they have a summer series, the Oakville Historical Society picnic, Bronte Senior Citizens Residence, Hopedale Mall, Oakville Place, Oaklands Regional Centre and the Oakville Centre. The group is a registered, nonâ€" profit charitable organization and do not charge for concerts, however, due to budget cuts, they appreciate any contributions. The Oakville Concert Band, a 35â€"piece ensemble of amateur musiâ€" cians, is anxious to find opportuniâ€" ties to perform for the community. Oakville director and producer Robert Rooney is the executive director of a compilation CD expected to raise more than $1 million for the Matla Trust, a South African organization dediâ€" cated to voter education and citiâ€" zenship training for 20 million first time voters.
