The parade's participants will congregate at Hopedale Mall. It will include some floats and decorated vehicles as well as marching groups. Starting time is 11:00 a.m. and the route will fol­ low Third Line to Lakeshore Road to Coronation Park, where it will finish. While Canada celebrates its 132nd birthday, the Sikh community is also commemorating the 300th anniversary of their faith. For this reason, they will supply refreshments for the participants at the parade and the performers on stage to cre­ ate awareness of the event. There is a full line-up of performers at centre stage. Siony's Dance Company will present Tahitian and Hula dances. They have also planned to do some Filipino fold dances and some line dancing. Angels, a local group of four youngsters, will lip sync and mimic the Spice Girls and Aqua. Banda Pilipino, a popular 50-member march­ ing band will lead the parade and will also per­ form as a concert band on stage. The Caribbean Association of Halton will con­ tribute some Caribbean musical entertainment. The Greek Orchestra Pikilia, formed some four years ago by professional and skilled musi­ cians from the Greek community, has performed at various celebrations, festivals and concerts and they are proud to show their versatility by playing traditional and contemporary Greek music on Canada Day. Gina Ferreira, a local singer-songwriter who has sung in several concerts in Canada, in US and Brazil, will sing her favourite Portuguese songs. The Oakville Baha'i Community usually sponsors artistic performances on the subject of human rights. This time they will present two performances, the first one is mime, the other a dance. Punjabi Folkdance - Bhangra is Oakville Sikh Cultural Association's contribution to the Canada Day program. The dancers will present tradition­ al Indian folk dances. The Croatian Dance Ensemble Hrvatsko Prelo has been performing all over Ontario and Canada and had been to Europe in recent years. They will be one of the main attractions at the festival. Alianza Mexicana, a group of twelve perform­ ers, will show very entertaining folk dances from the Mexican regions of Chiapas, Jalisco, Veracruz and Oaxaca. M orningstar Tae Kwon Do has been a favourite attraction in the past and will once again present an exhibition of the Korean martial arts. TOP-- The Punjabi Folkdance - Bhangra entertain spectators wher­ ever they perform. The Oakville Sikh Cultural Association is con­ tributing this dance number at the Canada Day Multicultural Festival at Coronation Park. Thompson Some of the other performers are the Holy Family Chinese School Dance Group, Oscar Vera with his Latin music, Oakville's Portuguese Folclorico Dance Group, Jorge and Kerry Bolanos with their hot Latin Dance numbers, Brampton Bhangra Group, local recording artists Glen Hamilton and Lystra Gibbs, etc. Other activities at the park include face paint­ ing, games, the Pepsi Taste Tour, a fashion show and much more. Foods from different cultural groups will be available. There will be lots of fun for the entire family at Coronation Park on Canada Day. Parking is allowed inside the park when space is available. Additional parking is allowed at Sir John Colborne Recreation Centre, just steps away west of the park.
