The juveniles compete at the provincial level and were fifth this year. The novice team competes nationally and this year finished eighth. The club is currently recruiting interested skaters for both the juvenile and novice teams. To join this fast paced, fun sport call the Oakville Skating Club at 257-7771. The juvenile Ice Expression team finished fifth at this year's provincials. Big tourney win in season finale The O akville Hornets Intermediate A girls rep hockey team won the 1999 Metro Cup International tournament over the June 11-13th weekend in Toronto. Oakville earned the cham pi­ onship, doubling Pittsburgh Iceburghs 6-3. It was their season finale before hanging up the skates for the sum­ mer. The game was very close until Oakville pulled away very late. Pittsburgh opened the scoring but then Oakville took a 2-1 lead. Pittsburgh tied it up at 2-2, Oakville went ahead 3-2, and then Pittsburgh tied it up 3-3 late in the game. With overtim e looming, however, Oakville scored two quick ones and then added an empty netter. Jordana Lee scored the empty netter to complete her hat-trick.
