The male ordered the clerk to open the cash register and proceeded be­ hind the counter removing cash, cigarettes, cigars and the employee's cellphone. The accused then fled in a waiting vehicle. The same suspect alleg­ edly robbed the 7-Eleven convenience store located at 3455 Fairview St. in Bur­ lington on March 20. The male reportedly entered the store armed with a knife and demanded mon­ ey, stealing cigarettes, ci­ gars, cash and the employ­ ee's wallet before fleeing into a waiting vehicle. In the course of the Hal- ton Regional Police Service (HRPS) investigation, the same suspect was identi- fied as being involved in a series of thefts from auto­mobiles in Burlington on March 5 and 6. During these thefts, the accused and an accomplice are said to have entered six vehi­ cles and stole a variety of personal items including a wallet. Police say credit cards stolen were subse­ quently used by the ac­ cused and the accomplice. HRPS executed a search warrant at an apartment building located at 205 Queen Mary Dr. in Oak­ ville and arrested a sus­ pect. While searching the apartment, investigators seized several items they say are linked to the rob­ beries. The man charged has been held over for a bail hearing. Colin Borne, 19, of Oak­ville has been charged with four counts of robbery with violence, four counts of wearing a disguise with in­ tent to commit a crime, four counts of possession of a dangerous weapon, four counts of failure to comply with a probation order, six counts of theft and eight counts of fraud under $5,000.
