The brothers got fa- mous as kids, and now they're getting famous for their quality business products. They said they're happy with how their businesses are proceeding and told the Oakville Beaver how they got started. They were at the top of their game when they left showbiz several years ago to pursue a different life Now, they're planning to be the best in the business world with the opportuni- ties they've chosen to pur- sue. Oakville's Rob Clark, 31, starred in the science fic- tion television shows The Zack Files (2000 to 2002) and Strange Days at Blake Hol- sey High. Big brother Daniel Clark, 32, who starred in Degrassi, ended up gradu- ating from NYU after he left Hollywood. "We grew up in the film industry for 20 years of our life," said Rob. But, at 20 years old, they had a lot of friends, and the money ran out. They decided they need- ed to get into something more substantial. "We were both in the en- tertainment industry for 10 to 15 years, and I couldn't really do it all. At 20, I was looking at doing other things career-wise. I was young enough to go back to school," Dan said. "I stopped acting, and I worked full time to go to school." During his time in New York, he ended up graduat-York, he ended up graduat-Y ing and working on World News Tonight with Diane Sawyer, MSNBC and ABC, writing, and as a journal- ist, producing. "I was working 60- to 70- hour workweeks," said Dan. "You have to really, re- ally care about news and dedicate your lives to it," he said, noting that he still loved it. "It was amazing and New York was an amazing city to live in." So, four years ago, Dan made yet another big deci- sion to leave New York and come help his brother build new businesses. Meanwhile, Rob made the start seven years ago, when their first real estate property was purchased. Since then, they've turned over dozens of properties by "taking out the garbage and making it nice," said Rob, who boasted they've done 40 properties in less than three years through their business RDC Man- agement and Holdings. "All of our holdings are in the St. Catharines area because it's the only place I could afford," he said. "We started out with what we could afford, and I really like St. Catharines. It's un- dervalued." Plus, it provides rental income and cash flow. "The idea of starting a business was appealing. Building things from scratch and making them into something really cool," said Dan, who moved back to Toronto in 2014. They even recruited younger brother Aaron Brown, 25, who now runs the family lawn-care, land- scaping and snow-removal business. The Oakville res- ident has also found suc- cess with Lawn Care Asso- ciates, dubbed "the reli- able property maintenance professionals you can al- ways count on." Dan and Rob have most recently launched eFresh Meals, which provides a va- riety of healthy, chef-pre- pared meals right to your door every week. All people have to do is heat and serve. BUSINESS BROTHERS ENTERTAINING WHOLE NEW LIFE WITH ACTING BEHIND THEM Rob and Daniel Clark left Hollywood to become successful entrepreneurs. Here, Rob shows off the eFresh Meals packaging.
