New this year ~ HCDSB has introduced online Advanced Kindergarten Registration as the first part of the registration process. Now registering your child for school can be as easy as 1, 2, 3! After filling out the online registration form, parents must then visit their home school to complete the second part of registration. Advanced registration for children in Year 1 (Junior Kindergarten) or children new to the school in Year 2 (Senior Kindergarten) in Halton Catholic elementary schools will be held on: Tuesday, January 22 & Wednesday, January 23, 2019 8:00 a.m. - 12.00 p.m. & 1:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Year 1: Children must be 4 years of age on or before December 31, 2019. Parents will require the following documents: Two pieces of documentation showing proof of address (lease or deed, car registra- tion, utility bill, residential telephone bill, moving bill, property tax bill, bank statement, credit card state- ment or correspondence with a government agency); a document showing the age of the child being registered (birth certificate, passport or faith record); and proof of citizenship (birth certifi- cate or passport, record of landing or permanent resi- dent card). Individuals who are not the parents of the child be- ing registered, or those who have sole custody, are asked to bring proof of custody. To be eligible to enter ju- nior kindergarten, children must be four years old by Dec. 31, 2019. To enter senior kindergarten, children must be five years old by the same date. NEWS KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION NOW OPEN FOR HDSB SCHOOLS A 33-year-old Hamilton woman has been charged in connection with a series of retail thefts dating back to December of 2017. Rachel Hansen, 33, was charged by Halton Police with six counts of theft un- der $5,000 related to a crime spree involving the theft of electronics and clothing from stores in Burlington and Oakville.
