The Town of Oakville is hosting an open house to present information on the following two creek studies: • Munn's Creek Flood Mitigation Opportunities Study (Flood Study) To assess riverine flood risks and establish alternativesTo assess riverine flood risks and establish alternativesT to mitigate them. • Munn's Creek Stabilization and Rehabilitation Study (Erosion Study) To assess the problem of creek erosion and instability and evaluate alternatives to reduce risk. This will be the first of two open houses for the Erosion Study. The town will be presenting background information on the priority erosion sites and possible alternatives being considered to reduce the risk of creek erosion. This will be the second and final open house for the Flood Study. The town will be presenting information on creek flood-prone sites, identified and evaluated alternatives, and the recommended preliminary preferred alternatives for flood mitigation. The open house is a drop-in format where staff and the town's consulting team will be present to discuss these studies, answer your questions and gather your input. Following the open house, the presentation materials will be posted on the town's website. Visit oakville.ca and search 'Munn's Creek'. Geomorphologist, Aquafor Beech Limited 289-290-4442, phillips.r@aquaforbeech.com Spring loose leaf collection April 23-May 3, 2019 Loose leaves will be collected from designated areas in Oakville as follows: Date Zone April 23-26 1, 3, 4 and 10 April 29-May 3 5, 6, 7 and 9 Collection guidelines • Place all loose leaves on the boulevard or on the shoulder, not over catch basins, bicycle lanes or in the ditches in front of your house. • Ensure leaves are free of garbage or other yard waste materials. • Put leaves out no earlier than seven days before the first day of your pickup and no later than 7 a.m. on the first day of collection in your zone. Please keep leaf piles separate from any woody debris including large twigs, brush and branches. Contaminated piles of leaves or piles that have been put out after the pickup dates will not be collected. Bagged leaf service Halton Region collects bagged leaves and yard waste on the same day as regular garbage pickup. This is a separate program from the Town of Oakville's loose leaf collection.
