SiNCE 1956 A car has been impounded for seven days and an Oakville teen charged after the car he was driving was clocked at 218 km/h early Tuesday (Jan. 7). OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt compared the breakneck speed to that of a plane taking off. "A Boeing 737 takes off at approx. 250 km/h," he tweeted. "This driver's flight plan was interrupted by the OPP." The incident occurred on Highway 400 in Toronto, police said. The stunt driving charge means an au- tomatic seven-day driver's licence suspen- sion for the 19-year-old and the car is also impounded for seven days. The incident prompted a strong reac- tion on social media. "Wow," was all that Eric Edlund tweet- ed. "Should've been suspended for years, not seven days. And get a criminal charge for endangerment," Wallace Smith said.
