This heritage home is up for sale, and has no shortage of unique/interesting facts asso- ciated with it. 1.) The house is known as the Jordan Munn House and was originally built in 1849. Jordan was the son of Daniel and Milli- cent Munn, who founded Munn's Corners at Sixth Line and Dundas Street. 2.) In 2015, the house was moved to its current location, 3020 Post Rd., about 200 metres northeast from its original site on Dundas. 3.) The house was designated a heritage property by the town of Oakville as an example of a mid-19th century house built in the classic revival style, in- spired by Greek and Roman ar- chitecture. 4.) The heritage home has a unique timber frame most com- monly found in barns of the era, but not homes. 5.) Over the last two years it has been restored by Sedgwick Marshall Heritage Homes Ltd., a Milton-based company that specializes in saving and revi- talizing historic homes. 6.) With the exception of a few features, such as originalfew features, such as originalf wooden beams in the basement, the interior has been gutted and modernized. 7.) The red brick heritage home is open and visible as it sits at the end of a row of new homes just north of Dundas Street, adding character to a modern community. 8.) Developers are required by law to protect heritage-des- ignated structures, but don't necessarily have the skilled personnel to undertake the massive rehabilitation - which is where Sedgwick Marshall comes in. 9.) The Jordan Munn home is on the market for $1,569,900. 10.) Next for Sedgwick Mar- shall is Oakville's Bowbeer House, which is being rebuilt on Sixth Line.
