They also said the huge structures would not be compatible with the exist- ing character of the neigh- bourhood. Ward 7 Councillor Pa- van Parmar echoed this worry, noting that, based on concept drawings of the development, it appears there will be balconies that will face Eighth Line and overlook the backyards of the residences on the other side of the street. Ward 6 Councillor Tom Adams raised questions about whether the large number of vehicles that will need to exit and enter this proposed development each day will cause prob- lems for the Dundas Street and Eighth Line intersec- tion. Ward 4 Councillor Allan Elgar discussed parking at the site, noting that when 141 visitor parking spaces are taken into account, only 56 of the units at this devel- opment will have the option to have two parking spaces. "These are one-, two- and three-bedroom condos," said Elgar. Town staff said the issue of parking would be looked at extensively as the devel- opment application is con- sidered. Another issue that arose from the discussion wasfrom the discussion wasf that the proposed develop- ment has no supporting re- tail component, which would be in keeping with the overall intent of the Dundas Urban Core plan. Following these discus- sions, council voted to re- ceive comments from both the public and the council- lors. Town staff will take these comments into con- sideration as they decide whether to recommend that this development ap- plication be approved or re- jected by council. It is important residents are aware when a large devel- opment that will bring hundreds of people and add hundreds of vehicles to the road network is proposed for their area.
