On that day, officers attended Skipton Lane after residents discovered an anti- Black slur written in chalk on a sidewalk. A Halton police investigation resulted in one youth being arrested. Although initial reports noted three ad- ditional youths were present at the time of the incident, police said they have deter- mined those individuals were not in- volved. The 16-year-old, who cannot be identi- fied because of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is being dealt with through the Halton police Youth Diversion Program. Halton police said they would like to thank members of the community who came forward and provided CCTV footage. They said a second nearby incident, which occurred June 23 and saw racist graffiti spray painted on a sidewalk near the intersection of Liptay Avenue and Col- onel William Parkway, is still under inves- tigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact Halton police at 905-825-4747 ext. 2245 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
