Key built heritage attributes of the monuments and markers, including fragments of monuments and markers, which contribute to St. Jude's Cemetery's cultural heritage value and significance include their: • location and orientation; • range of size and sophistication, from modest to elaborate; • variety of styles, materials and symbolism represented; • shape and form, including decorative elements; • surviving inscriptions; • various construction methods and techniques; and • associated fencing, specifically around family plots. The Oakville Milton Hu- mane Society is carrying on with one of its annual fund- raisers, though it is adapting it due to COVID-19. OMHS is now accepting videos for 'Prancing with the Stars', a video dance compe- tition. The public can pur- chase votes to support their favourite video. All funds raised will go toward the care of animals. The shelter cared for more than 3,000 an- imals last year and relies on donations from the commu- nity to help it find homes for domestic animals, provide medical and dental care and assist and treat wildlife. Here's what you need to know about 'Prancing with the Stars': • To enter, record a dance video of one minute or less. Videos will be judged in four categories: individuals, pairs, groups (no more than 10) and animals (dancing on their own or with someone else). • Videos must be received by Oct. 2. They can be sent to www.omhs.ca/pwts. • Once your video is sub- mitted and approved, en- trants will be sent a personal voting page to share. • Votes can be purchased for $1. • Voting will take place in two phases, with the first phase ending Oct. 15. • The top three videos in each category will move on to the virtual finale broad- cast. A second voting period will take place between Oct. 26 to Oct. 30, and the new votes will be added to the votes received from the lives- tream audience on Nov. 5, where the winners will be announced.
