The president of an Oakville brewing company says he has big plans for the future despite the CO- VID-19 pandemic. Clint Israel, who runs Camer- on's Brewing Company, said that by the end of 2021, he hopes to open a restaurant/event space as part of a 9,000-square-foot expansion of the company's 1165 Invicta Dr. ware- house. "This will be a full restaurant, event space, music hall ... kind of a brand centre to really highlight all the great things that Cameron's is -- for itself and for Oakville," said Israel. "We're excited about it." The brand centre is part of a $4- million expansion plan the beer brewer announced in late Septem- ber. Israel said the province con- tributed to that expansion fund with an investment of more than $130,000. The expansion plan saw Camer- on's put in new fermenting tanks, new floors, a new roof, a new bre- whouse, an expanded on-site labo- ratory and more. All these changes are expected to triple the company's internal production and ensure continued quality and consistency of the Cam- eron's brands. "This brewhouse that we put in here will be able to produce 1.5 mil- lion litres of beer in 2021," said Isra- el. "Quite remarkable." Like many other businesses, Cameron's took a hit from the CO- VID-19 pandemic when about 35 per cent of its revenue dried up after the bars and restaurants it supplied went into lockdown. Fortunately, in the last 10 months, sales at the brewery itself have risen by around 400 per cent, said Israel. "We've been overwhelmed by the amount of community support. It has really been amazing," he con- tinued. Cameron's has also made some changes to adapt to the new CO- VID-19 reality and is now offering free home delivery all across Onta- rio. Israel noted that all of the com- pany's salespeople are now also de- livery drivers. Cameron's was founded in Etob- icoke but has called Oakville home for around 22 years and currently employs 25 people. Israel has been president of the company since January, but prior to that, served as one of its directors since 2016. When asked what sets Camer- on's beer apart, Israel noted that like all craft beer, his company's beer is all natural and preservative free. He also pointed to the more than 250 international brewing awards they have received. "I like to say that we are ex- tremely proud of our 23-year histo- ry and equally excited about our fu- ture," said Israel. "We've had a lot of growth and we hope to continue in that direc- tion." Cameron's Brewery products can be purchased at the brewery it- self as well as at the LCBO, the Beer Store and grocery stores across the province. They can also be purchased on- line at https://cameronsbrew- ing.com/shop.
