Halton police began an investigation in November after cheques reportedly stolen in Oakville were found to have been cashed at various locations in To- ronto. Police say after identify- ing the responsible parties, investigators from the Oak- ville Criminal Investiga- tions Bureau conducted surveillance on the possi- ble suspects in Toronto on Feb. 26 and observed a sus- pected drug transaction during the operation. Police then arrested an Oakville man and said they seized the following: • 60 grams of metham- phetamine • 11 grams of cocaine • Seven Xanax pills • Five litres of Gamma- Hydroxybutyrate (GHB) A 29-year-old man from Oakville has been charged with possession for the pur- pose of trafficking meth- amphetamine, possession for the purpose of traffick- ing cocaine, possession for the purpose of trafficking Xanax, possession for the purpose of trafficking Gamma-Hydroxybutyrate (GHB), eight counts of fraud under $5,000, eight counts of using forged doc- ument, and three counts of failing to comply with pro- bation. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing in Milton. A 33-year-old woman from Oakville has also been arrested in relation to the investigation and charged with eight counts of fraud under $5,000, eight counts of using forged doc- ument, and failing to com- ply with release order. She was released from custody pending a court ap- pearance in Milton. The charges have not been proven in court.
