Halton police received multiple 911 calls reporting a man acting erratically going out onto Upper Middle Road at around 4 p.m. The man -- in his 30s -- was reportedly banging on several vehicles, causing them damage. At one point, he allegedly jumped on the hood of a Chevrolet Camaro. As the driver tried to flee the situation, the man was thrown off the hood and struck his head on the road, according to Sgt. Duane Bilton, who was at the scene. Paramedics rushed the man to Hamil- ton General Hospital's trauma centre with a serious but not life-threatening head in- jury. Earlier the suspect also allegedly as- saulted a man in his 60s in the parking lot of an Esso gas station across the street on the northeast corner of Upper Middle Road and Third Line. The victim was taken to Oakville Tra- falgar Memorial Hospital with non life- threatening injuries. Eastbound Upper Middle Road at Third Line was closed for about an hour for the investigation, which continued at press time.
