Pillars of Wellness, a multidis- ciplinary clinic based n Halton, is offering a guided virtual rehab group program for COVID long haulers. "The aim of this program is to help this population to self-man- age their conditions by providing them with tools, resources, sup- port, guidance from different health professionals," said Lau- rent Pinci, co-owner and founder of Pillars of Wellness. The first of its kind in Canada, according to Pinci, the program is designed for those who have lingering symptoms after an ini- tial diagnosis of COVID-19. Such symptoms might include short- ness of breath, body aches, fa- tigue, difficulty concentrating, headaches and/or memory is- sues. It is also hoped the virtual rehab will be of value to those who are unable to afford treat- ment, those who are unable to travel or who have an auto-im- mune deficiency, he said. The COVID Long Haulers Guided Online Rehab Program is 10 weeks long and includes a vir- tual assessment followed by nine virtual educational sessions. Health professionals involved in- clude a physiotherapist, occupa- tional therapist, social worker, speech and language pathologist, naturopathic doctor and yoga therapist.
