After playing an Instant Plinko ticket, the Oakville man qualified to drop a chip on a Plinko board at the OLG prize centre in To- ronto. He studied videos of previous Plinko winners to see where they dropped their chip. Still, he wasn't prepared for the end result. "I never expected to win the top prize," he said after his chip settled into the $500,000 slot at the bottom of the board. "I loved Plinko from the Price is Right, so I've been playing this game since it's come out," the 65-year-old said. Houston bought his ticket at Happy Milk Vari- ety on Kerr Street in Oak- ville. He scratched his tick- et in the store, winning a 'chip'. That earned him a drop on lottery terminal Plinko board where prizes range from $10 to a chance to play on a real Plinko board at the OLG prize cen- tre. "When I handed it to the clerk, her reaction made me realize I won big," he said. Guaranteed at least $100,000, Houston started doing his homework before dropping his Plinko chip in person. And it paid off, three rows from the bottom of the board, his chip mo- mentarily rested on a peg before falling to the right and into the $500,000 slot. He immediately called his family to tell them the news. "Everyone was so happy - they were in as much dis- belief as I was," he said "Ev- eryone I love will get some of this win. I want to be sure to share this amazing windfall with the people most important to me. I'll help my kids and have plenty left over to help me buy a house." And Houston couldn't help but hope a little of his good fortune would rub off on his favourite hockey team. Wearing a Toronto Ma- ple Leafs' hat and mask, Houston watched as his chip found the $500,000 slot, then shouted "I can't be- lieve that. Right on! Go Leafs Go."
