Dated at the Town of Oakville June 10, 2021 Though we cannot phys- ically come together, we at PFLAG Halton are looking for ways to create a sense of visibility and community that means so much to us in June -- when we celebrate Pride Month. We've come up with a great way to come together, albeit virtually, through our latest initiative: the SHOW YOUR PRIDE cam- paign. We're asking folks across Halton, 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals and allies, to tell us what PRIDE means to you. We want to light up social me- dia in rainbow colours with community engage- ment and representation that we all need right now. A link to the campaign can be found at www.face- book.com/haltonpflag. Tell us what PRIDE means to you. You can tell us your story in whatever medium you like: a story with pictures, a poem, spo- ken word, in a video -- whatever you prefer. With your consent, we will share these stories across our social media platforms during the month of June. Everyone who partici- pates will be entered into random draws to win some awesome PRIDE prizes and swag. PFLAG Halton is also delivering a training ses- sion on allyship through the Milton Public Library on Thursday, June 17 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. We will dis- cuss what allyship means and how to better become allies to the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. Visit www.mpl.on.ca to register, as spaces are limited. Of course, PFLAG Hal- ton could not do this alone. We want to thank all the public libraries across the region for helping us to show our pride with this campaign, as well as for of- fering us space to provide training.
