The incident occurred when gunfire rang out at the Chicken Land restau- rant near Glen Erin Drive and the Collegeway just be- fore 7:20 p.m. on May 29. Police say men entered the premises and began shooting at the staff, strik- ing the 56-year-old owner, his 44-year-old wife, his two sons, aged 22 and 25, and a 58-year-old male em- ployee. The owner's 13-year-old daughter was also inside, but she wasn't physically injured. Naim Akl, the 25-year- old son from Oakville, was pronounced dead at the scene. The four others were transported to trau- ma centres. On Tuesday, June 8, po- lice arrested and charged Naqash Abbasi, a 31-year- old man from Brampton, and arrested Suliman Ra- za, 25, of Mississauga the following day. Both men are charged with first-degree murder and five counts each of at- tempted murder using a firearm. A third suspect -- 20- year-old Anand Nath of Mississauga -- surren- dered to Montreal police on Thursday, June 10 and was returned to the region to answer to the same charg- es. "This was a horrific act of violence which resulted in loss of life and serious injury to the surviving vic- tims, said Peel police Chief Nish Duraiappah. Peel police photo Halton police are looking for one suspect following the armed rob- bery of an Oakville gas station on Friday, June 11. At approximately 10 p.m., a man entered the Husky Gas station at 630 Fourth Line, pulled out a knife and demanded cash from the employee, police said. The employee report- edly complied and gave the suspect some money from the register. The robber then left the area. The employee was not physically in- jured during the incident. The suspect is de- scribed as Black, approxi- mately six-foot with an average build. He wore a black hoodie over his head, a light-col- oured shirt underneath, black pants, black boots and a black face covering. The man carried a black bag and a silver pocket-knife.
