Recently the business celebrated its 500,000th parcel delivered, a landmark number that the company expects to double by the end of the summer season. In November 2020, Metroland kicked off its game-changing parcel delivery service in Ontario, utilizing its historic infrastructure and trusted expertise to significantly lower the cost of quality delivery. Since that time, Metroland Parcel Services has paired with more than 40 retailers, including lucky number 500,000: Henry's Camera. Landmark delivery after seven months in business Twenty-five years ago, Bruny Surin passed the ba- ton to Oakville's Donovan Bailey and immediately raised his arms in celebra- tion. Bailey sprinted the fi- nal 100 metres as Canada won the Olympic relay gold. Now Bailey is looking to pass the baton to Canadi- ans. "I look around and I see what Canada can be - should be - must be. And it starts with our youth. All youth. Inclusive. Active," Bailey said. "I have said on many occasions that every- one should do sports. It ben- efits not just the individual - one's body and mind - but one's soul. Pass the Baton Canada is a rally call to all Canadians to be active - to get involved while raising funds benefiting youth charities across the nation." Pass the Baton Canada will take place from July 27- Aug. 3 with five virtual events that will raise money for the Boys and Girls Club of Canada, Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Canada as well as the Oakville Com- munity Foundation's Dono- van Bailey Sports Excel- lence Award. The events will include a 1K, 5K, 10K and a 25K as well as a 4x100m for a four-per- son team in a social bubble. Participants can walk, run, stroll, wheel, bike or skate- board. The months leading up to the Pass the Baton events will include a series of fun social media challenges and activities. To register for the event, visit passthebatoncanada- .com.
