Police received a call about 1:30 a.m. about a pe- destrian being struck by a westbound CP freight train near Bronte Street North and Steeles Avenue. Emer- gency services were dis- patched, but the 42-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her iden- tity is not being released. The collision recon- struction unit assumed re- sponsibility for the investi- gation with the assistance of CP police. This marks the second time in less than a month that a person was killed by a train in Milton, following a fatality involving a man and a GO Train in the Sixth Line and Derry Road area on June 17.
