Scott was taken from us far too soon at 60 years of age. Upon his passing, Scott was surrounded by his wife of 35 years, Christine, and his three children, Wade, Carling and Brett. Scott is survived by his mother, Kay Goold, his sisters Karen Dunfee (Pat) and Tammy Funk (Steve), in addition to nephews Jay Funk, Ryan and Sean Dunfee, and nieces Elise and Celine Funk. He was predeceased by his father Jay Goold. Scott is also survived by his mother-in-law Vlasta Schlegel, brother-in-law Peter and sisters-in-law Elfi and Andrea (and their collective families). He was predeceased by his father-in- law Peter Schlegel. Scott's high energy and love for sports was a consistent theme throughout his life. Whether he was playing, coaching, or mentoring, Scott was an active member in the Oakville community. He volunteered for many years and was involved with the Oakville Rangers Hockey Club, Oakville Soccer Club, Mississauga Terriers Hockey Club and the Oakville Blue Devils Soccer Club. Scott graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a degree in Chemical Engineering. He worked with Linde/Praxair for the past 31 years. A special thanks to all the nurses and doctors at the Toronto General Hospital, who worked so hard to try and return Scott to our family and friends. BACKUS, James Arthur ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of James Arthur Backus. He went peacefully on January 11, 2022, at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. He is reunited with his beloved wife Elsie Backus (nee Logan). He is predeceased by brother Gary, survived by sister Beryl (predeceased Don), Marylyn (Wayne), brother Dale (Jeanette), many neices, nephews and countless friends. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. A Memorial Service to celebrate Jim and Elsie's lives will be held at Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home 64 Lakeshore Rd W. (one block east of Kerr St.) Oakville, on February 4, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be held at St Jude's Cemetery in the spring. Online condolences and registration to attend service can be found at www.koprivataylor.com ERB, Frances (Wendy) Wendolyn November 22, 1942 - January 27, 2022 ------------------ After living with Alzheimer's for over 15 years, passed away peacefully at Kensington Gardens, Toronto. Predeceased by her father William (Bud) Bartlett of Calgary and Frances (Fran) Rundle of St. Catharines. Will be deeply missed by and is the loving mother of Jeffrey (Lisa), Tracey (Jamie Howitt) and Bradford. She absolutely adored and will be missed by all of her grandchildren - B.J. (Korey), Bryanne, Danielle, Ciera, Justine and Cody and great-grandchildren - Landon, Logan and Leeland. Affectinately known as 'Wee', and will be missed by her siblings Ron Bartlett, Judy Christie (Kent), Rick Bartlett (Lori) and Glenna Zaine, and all of her nieces and nephews. Also fondly remembered by sisters-in-law, Marilyn Erb and Marlene Lang. Wendy loved spending time with her entire family and was happiest when with family, making many memories over the years. She loved to laugh and laughed most when with her family. She will be missed dearly! Wendy's wishes were to be cremated and she did not want a service. Born in Harbour View, Nova Scotia Kaye was predeceased by her parents, John D and Janet (Beaton) Gillis, brothers Joe, Angus and John Angus and sisters Mary Janet Doyle and infant Mary Caroline, sisters-in-law Edna (Joe) and Rita (Angus), brothers-in-law Edward Doyle and Angelo Amara. Left to mourn her passing are sisters Florence Amara (Boston, Mass), Elaine (Stuart) Tyler (Burl-ington, Ontario) and sister-in-law Carmelita Gillis (Harbour View, Nova Scotia) as well as numerous dearly loved nieces and nephews spanning four generations. A graduate of Nova Scotia Normal School, Kaye began her teaching career in Nova Scotia and eventually moved to Ontario where she com- pleted 40+ years of classroom work retiring in the early 1990's from Halton Catholic District School Board. Once retired she spent time doing volunteer work in her com- munity and pursuing her love of travel to far off destinations. Retirement also allowed her to devote quality time to extended family making her a special aunt to many younger family members. Kaye was a devoted member of St Dominic's Roman Catholic Parish, Oakville for over 40 years participating in CWL, Choir and Eucharistic Ministry. We would like to say a special thank you to the care givers at Waterford LTC especially those on 3rd Floor Trafalgar. Your gentle care for Kaye especially over these final weeks was apparent and deeply appreciated. Funeral Mass was held on Friday, January 28, 2022 at St Dominic's Roman Catholic Church, 2415 Rebecca Street, Oakville at 11 a,m. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Ian (2017). Carol leaves her children Susan (Bruce Westwater), and Geoffrey (Allyson); sister and brother-in-law Margaret and Ivan De Domenico. Carol was fiercely proud and caring Nandee to Noah and Brooke Westwater and Lucas and Sophie Kirkwood. She was a life long resident of Oakville; member of St Jude's Anglican Church and dedicated Volunteer (Past President) of the Oakville Hospital Volunteer Association for more than 50 years.
