"What shall I make for din- ner tonight?" Pixie McSauce thought and thought and finally shook his head and said: "I don't think I'll make anything for dinner tonight." This seemed like a very good idea the instant he thought of it. So he promptly took off his white apron and cap, put on his green visiting-suit and set out to visit somebody. The Tiny Path He wasn't quite sure whom he was going to visit, "Ill make up my mind as I go along," he said. Pixie didn't know. That was a hard question to answef. But the more he thought about it, the surer he began to feel that prob- ably none of the others would eat anything at all. Palm of Hand Hanid Hanid said quite sternly as she lifted the pixie up in the palm of her hand and held him at the right height where she could talk to him without stooping down. "Now that's very silly. You're the cook. You're supposed to make the dinners. All the other pixies are out working." "But how can I make dinner ~when I can't think of anything to make?" said Pixie McSauce. "Now just let's see" said Han- 1d, 'trying to be helpful "What about--" dear me!" she said sud- denly. "What do pixies eat?" "Just food," answered Pixie. "I know, but what kind of f00d," demanded Hanid. "Good fresh food that tastes all right" Pixie McSauce didn't seem to be able to give Hanid any help at all. So finally she set him down on the ground again. "You'd bet- ter make something!" she warn- ed him. At that very instant Pixie ut- tered an exclamation. "I've got it! Look," and he pointed to a clump of daisies, buttercups and clover.
