PHONE 31 MUSIC ALBUM BY IRVEN FELL The contents of this column will just be a reiteration of what at this have said other ye time. We are in the middle of September almost, and those who have talent in the musical way, especi singing, will be thinking, that is, i they think at all what they will do with that talent It is more than likely that the choirleader from your church has some time or another, been in cont with you about joining the church choir. Please don't use that lame excuse that you are too busy. Believe me, I am quite serious when I that your voice in the church ch is a wonderful form of service to your church, You may loist 'but remember t choirs or groups of singers are not made up of sol- oists. I am more and more convinced that the many people who have had experience in choir work and are no longer interested, it is not because they are not in- Quality Venetian Blinds Custom. We hear and read a lot about peo- ple as individuals accepting res- ponsibility as a personal matter and 1 for ome believe it to be true. There is altogether too much of letting the other person do it or think about it. Most people, except the halt, the lame and the blind are busy, or should be be- cause there lots for every- body to do in this-old world. You know folks, 1 take that back about the halt, lame and blind not being busy. I heard a blind choir sing just a year ago. I know, and you do too, people who are lame wlio are as busy as beav- Read about Helen Keller for one. She was blind and deaf and dumb, 1 think that the more thankful we are that we are physically and mentally healthy the more we will be anxious to accept responsibility of the many things there are to do and get out and help. Yes, and we will do it, not for our own particular glory and benefit but do it for the benefit of all There is mot a choir in our town which will not accept new comers. In other words, you are needed and that should spur you on, just to feel that you are need- ed. Tt is vitally important to our churches to have good leader- ship in singing the glorious hymns which convey so much to the spiritual side of life. An- other excuse often heard is, "T don't want to be tied down on Sundays." What is really meant is that you would rather be tied down to your social side of lite than you would to your church. There are many excuses and an answer for all of them and TI think 1 have heard them all. WINNER OF THE WEEK If Ci K. EVANS, Spruce St, will call in at Lofquist's Record Bar, he will be presented with a red seal record wjth the compli- ments of the Journal.
