POLICE SEIZE FIREARM AND DRUGS DAVID LEA dlea@metroland.com Halton police made two arrests and re- portedly seized fentanyl, methamphet- amine, cocaine and a rifle during a raid that was executed in Oakville on Thurs- day, Sept. 29. A day prior, officers with the Halton po- lice Oakville Street Crime Unitinitiated an investigation into alleged drug trafficking taking place within the town. On Sept. 29, at around 9 p.m., investiga- tors executed a search it at a resi- dence in the area of Maidstone Crescent and Old Abbey Lan¢ As a result of the ‘search warrant, offi- cers reportedly seized: grams of fentanyl 9. 8 grams of methamphetamine + 4.6 grams of cocaine *a .22 calibre long rifle + 44 rounds of .22 ammunition + three prohibited knives + an extendable baton +a quantity of Canadian currency +a BB rifle + digital scales + packaging + cell phones Two people were arrested during this operation. A 33-year-old Oakville woman and a 35- year-old Oakville man have been charged. ith th possession for the pur- pose of trafficking, three counts of traffick- ing, careless storage of a firearm, posses- sion of a firearm knowing it is unautho- rized, two counts of unauthorized posses- sion of a weapon and possession of property obtained by crime (recovered sto- len tricycle).
