- Description
- The Estok Motor Inn, as shown on this colour postcard, was a one story building. The Estok offered a restaurant and a trailer park in addition to motel accomodations.
The motel is situated behind the restaurant that has a very unique roof line with several front peaks and a spire on the roof.
The photo shows an interior view of a typical motel unit as well as a view of the restaurant.
- Notes
- The Estok Motor Inn was originally on land owned by the Tait family and later the Allhusen family whose log home once stood where the restaurant is now located.
The land changed hands several times prior to the construction of the motel and restaurant which was done around the 1950.
Mr. Estok took over the operation changing the name from the Century Hotel to the Estok Motor Inn. 1973 saw another change of ownership this time to Peter Vajda who was the owner at the time the photo was taken.
This photo can be found in the Tweedsmuir History created by the Iron Bridge Women's Institute.
