Description
This color photo shows the Iron Bridge Museum being constructed in the summer of 1974.

At this point the main structure of the building is completed with square timbers and several people are working on laying shingles on the roof.
Notes
The museum located next to the Tourist Information booth on Highway 17 was made possible with a Federal Youth Grant in 1974. Fourteen students were the primary participants on the project but several others assisted.

It is a twenty by twenty six foot building with one room and a cement floor. The hardware for the board doors was created by blacksmith Archie Cameron of Dayton.

This photo can be found in the Tweedsmuir History created by the Iron Bridge Women's Institute.
