- Construction on the Iron Bridge Arena began April 4, 1977 after a grant for $105,690.25 was received from the Wintario Corp. among other donations and grants.
The land was donated by the Iron Bridge Lions Club and the official Kona Builders contract ended on July 18, 1977. The arena was by no means finished at this time however.
