Description
This color photo shows the Iron Bridge Senior Citizens Home on Mississaugi Crescent during the flood of 1979.

The building appears to be surrounded by water except for a small strip of grass to the left of the building.

Notes from Linda Reeves:
This building sat on a knoll. It was completely surrounded by water. My aunt and uncle's house, Albert and Elsie Wedgwood, was behind the building and was flooded. We tried to sandbag the house but were unsuccessful. The water rose through the basement and then the river overflowed the sandbags and completely flooded their house.
Notes
The home had only been open for two years at the time of the flooding.
