Description
This is a brush cutter axe with a wooden handle that looks much like a regular axe handle, the head however is held on with iron straps that are riveted onto the axe head which attached parallel to the axe handle. Also called a bush hook, ditch blade, ditch bank blade, or ditch blade axe)sometimes used for gardening or by surveyors for clearing out underbrush.
Notes
These type of axes were used to clear undergrowth and light brush much like a machete would be used.
