- Page 32 has a scribble in the top left hand corner which looks like L5 $20. The inner back cover reads in both English & French: "Warning - 1.This passport is a valuable document. It must not be altered in any way. It should be safeguarded with the utmost care; if lost or destroyed, the circumstances should be reported immediately to the local police and, in Canada, to the Passport Office, Ottawa; abroad, to the nearest Canadian diplomatic or consular authorities. 2. This passport is normally valid for five years from date of issue and may be renewed for an additional period of five years. Renewal may be obtained in Canada from the Passport Office, Ottawa; abroad, from the Canadian Embassy, Legation, High Commissioner's Office, or Consulate in the country in which the bearer is residing or visiting. 3. The passport is only valid for travel to the country or countries named on page four, but may be endorsed for additional countries on request to the authorities mentioned in para. 2 above. It does not confer the right to enter any foreign country; the bearer should enquire at the nearest Consulate of the foreign country which he proposes to visit about the conditions of admission. 4. A Canadian citizen who was not a Canadian citizen by birth should take steps to protect his citizenship within six years of leaving Canada, through application for extension. 5. Children born abroad to Canadian citizens should be registered under the Canadian Citizenship Act within two years of birth if it is desired that they should have Canadian citizenship."
