Keetch's General Store was located at the south east corner of Main Street and Algoma East and carried everything from clothing to hardware and almost anything in between.
The Post Office building is located there today.
Provencher Brother's Butchers also stood on the same corner of Main Street and Algoma East at a later date, run by the three brothers.
The Post Office building at the corner of Main Street and Algoma East was constructed in 1939 and still stands in 2010 on the same site.
The lot to the south of the Post Office was the site of Jim Downey's Photography shop and residence.
Next to that was Keetch's Dry Goods, both buildings were eventually torn down and sold to Herman Skoog in 1945, who in turn sold it to Herman Wyman. Both Mr. Skoog and Mr. Wyman were in the shoe repair business, Mr. Wyman being self taught. Eventually he branched out into skate sharpening as well, and was for some time the only shoe repair shop between Espanola and Sault Ste. Marie.
This chart shows the location and changes in the businesses located along this block.
