Boucherville was the site Montréal's seaplane port. Pre-war, all transatlantic flights came through here. Starting in 1940, it was operated as a flying boat base by the RAF's Ferry Command (later Transport Command). Weekly Coronado flights until mid-1946. Base closing that year was also the end of the flying boat era.
