- A postcard showing the MS Norgoma. The Norgoma was built in 1950 and was originally a steam ship used for packages and passenger transportation. It also had a limited capacity to be used as a car transport. The first leg of its lifetime was a once a week run between Owen Sound and Sault Ste. Marie. In 1963 it was retrofitted with diesel engines and in 1964 was transferred to being used between Tobermory and South Bay Mouth on Manitoulin Island. Its service continued until 1974 when it was replaced by the newer and larger MS Chi-Cheemaun.
