- This is a newspaper clipping highlighting the life of pioneer Herb Allen on the occasion of his 86th birthday.
This article tells about Mr. Allen's family history and his work, first as a stone mason, later as a dairy farmer and someone who raised Percheron horses in Livingstone Creek.

- Mr. Allens' stone work included Thessalon's Anglican Church of the Redeemer, the O'Connor Block, the foundation of the United Church and the manufacturing of all the bricks for the Maple Ridge School.
The writer of this article, Thelma Allen, is noted as Herb Allen's daughter-in-law (married to Herb's son Dean).
