Spirits seemed to be revived considerably. Thanks to Mac Morrison, Jim White, Ron Fraser, Rich and Stoneman and Mitch's Father Elmer Murphy as his accompaniment. The music both varied and greatly pleased all who came to the dance. Ellie and Jo stayed on the door selling both entrance and raffle tickets. We really were amazed at the excellent turnout. We were moving all the time. As soon as Henry Stoneman Started calling for square dancers everyone was ready to go. At 11 o'clock people were still pouring in and Bill Bulger came to help at the door. Nadine and Jim and other volunteers help were still selling sandwiches, soft drinks, and coffee left and right from the kitchen. Thanks to Laurie Kingsland as well must be given. When one set of musicians took a break the other took over and Laurie relieved Henry on the calling of square dances. I must say it was quite one of the "Olde Fashioned Square Dances", of course there was quite a bit of drinking being carried on but now one seemed to mind. Everyone was having a good time and no one was in any way out of place. At midnight the draw for the raffle was pulled and Alma Stoneman of Whitefish Lake won the side of bacon. JoAnne made a little speech to thanks everyone for their help and to make the dance the success it was, of course the turnout was much more than any of us expected, but we were ready for it and it seemed as though everyone there was enjoying themselves. Later as the crowd started to dwindle, Bill Bulger and Laura Hunziger, who had come to the hall about 10:30 p.m. to offer her volunteer services, started to tally up what we had gained for the evening. At the final count we had made a clear profit of 323.03 which was to be deposited into our account in the bank. Of course we were all terribly please at this discovery. With this amount
