This photograph appears to have been taken at the Park Brothers' factory (also known as Park Bros. Chatham Boiler & Engine Works). The metal "tank" is the pressure vessel component of a horizontal return tube steam boiler, a typical Park Brothers'product. The vertical cylindrical portion visible atop the right side of the vessel is the steam dome. Boilers of this type were commonly used in factories, mills, and other industrial applications.
