- Dr. J Edgar Williams was born in 1898 in Toronto. He was a veteran of World War One and later did his medical degree at the University of Toronto. He took over his uncle's family practice in St. Marys and lived nearby on a farm. During World War Two he served with #10 Canadian General Hospital in England, France, Belgium and Holland. After the war he returned to his practice in St. Marys until being awarded the position of Chief Medical Officer with the London Board of Education in 1946. He died in London 1958.
