Description
A view of the Knox Presbyterian Church looking southeast across the yard of the St. James Anglican Church. The photo was taken by local amateur photographer Milton Reesor in 1899. This church was the second built on the property, the first was destroyed in a fire in 1891. This church would eventually burn down as well and would again be replaced by another church only for the third and final church on the property to be demolished in the 1960s; apartments were built in its place. In 1899 the Reesor family lived in a house on Elgin Street, this view appears to be taken from their property. A pipe fence can be seen surrounding the property of the church.
