- Description
- A photograph featuring work at the Horseshoe Quarry. The image gives a view of the quarry floor with a cart filled with stone being winched up the ramp. The Horseshoe Quarry predated the cement company in St. Marys. The quarry provided stone for cement making before the company began to quarry its own stone. The quarry was located at the far south end of Church Street and was close enough to the rail line that the Grand Trunk ran a short spur to the quarry to load stone. Tracks can been seen on the quarry floor.
This photo was taken by local amateur photographer Milton Reesor. - Notes
- Condition: Fair - Image is slightly discoloured and faded particularly on left side of the photo. Paper is in good condition otherwise. Album matte is in very good condition.
