- Description
- A photo featuring the Near and Mathieson Mill once located on the Thames River. At the time this photo was taken in the early 20th century, the grist mill was abandoned; however, the dam remained and can be seen in the distance in this photo. The mill was owned by miller George Mathieson and John Near. It was formerly known as Knight & Mathieson Mill before Near bought out Knight in 1894. The miller's house is visible on the right. The last remnants of the dam were demolished in 1959.
