- Description
- A photo taken by local photographer Milton Reesor, showing the burned out ruins of the former Carter Oatmeal Mill. The mill was located downstream the Thames River, where River Road turns up the hill towards Rannoch.
The oatmeal mill was built in January of 1903. The mill was owned by the G. Carter & Son Company and was built on the site of the previous mill owned by James Douglas Moore, which burnt down in 1901. The Carter Mill was destroyed by fire only fourteen months after its construction and was never re-built. - Notes
