- Description
- This house at 44 St. Andrew Street South was built for Frank E. Butcher, a local businessman, in 1898. Butcher’s son, jeweler Ellison Butcher, lived in this house for some time. It was likely constructed by builder William Pulleyblank; however, there is no documented evidence of this. This house was one in a set of four built for Butcher. All four houses were built with Queen Anne style features; this specific home is the only one featuring a tower. Electrician L.H. Reesor was a tenant in the home from 1899 to 1902 and lived there with his family, including his son amateur photographer Milton Reesor. It was Milton who took this photograph.
