- Description
- An aerial photo taken from an airplane giving a view of St. Marys from above in 1919. The photo was taken by the Bishop Barker Co. Limited, based in Toronto; it has been printed on the front of a postcard. The company was founded in 1919 by Canadian flying aces William "Billy" Bishop and William Barker. One of the services the company offered was aerial photography.
The postcard was sent to Milton Reesor at his address in Toronto in June of 1920. Reesor was a resident of St. Marys for many years and this photograph was included in one of his photo albums. He was a photography enthusiast and had taken numerous amateur photographs of St. Marys and the surrounding area.
