- Description
- This photo was taken by local amateur photographer Milton Reesor in 1900. A crowd has gathered at the Elizabeth Street Switch, a Grand Trunk Railway Depot once located in St. Marys. The Switch was eventually replaced in 1907 by the current Via Station. The crowd was waiting to catch a glimpse of former Prime Minister Sir Wilfrid Laurier as he arrived during a whistle stop. The train can be seen approaching at the far left of the photo.
