- Description
- This image is one in a series of postcards from the Reg Near collection. The image is a black and white photograph of the Opera house on Water street with a horse drawn carriage and a man sitting in the carriage. The image is likely from the early 20th century. Flanking the Opera house are buildings that were owned by brothers Theodore and William Hutton. Some of the unique architectural features of the building are the bartizans along the top of the building, the quatrefoil windows, just slightly visible in this image, as well as lancet windows. Hydro wires can also be seen zigzagging across the image.
- Notes
- Condition: Good- there are a few small discoloured marks on the photograph in the center of the postcard and what appears to be a split in the actual photograph.
