Description
This image is one in a series of postcards from the Reg Near collection. This is a photograph of the Grand Trunk Railway station in St. Marys. It was built in 1907 to accommodate the Toronto-Sarnia railway line after fifty years of effort and negotiations. This picture is looking north, and the train engine on the right will have just crossed the London Bridge. The station was almost demolished in 1987, but was purchased by the town and refurbished as a VIA Rail station, as it still serves today.
