Description
This image is one in a series of postcards from the Reg Near collection. It shows a photograph of Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame 2001 inductees Dave McKay and Gary Carter, flanked by RCMP officers Ross Hills (left) and Renzo Carniato. The Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum was started in Toronto by Bruce Prentice in the early 1980s, but was closed in 1991. In 1994, St. Marys won the bidding contest and officially opened the Hall of Fame on June 4, 1998. Since then, the Hall of Fame has served to value baseball and contribute to community and economic development, education, and healthy lifestyles.
