- This image is one in a series of postcards from the Reg Near collection. Originally sold to James Ingersoll by the Canada Comapany in 1851, John M. Adam purchased the lot in March 1895. The building was erected in 1901, and served as a grocer, hardware store, and residences. John M. Adams moved across the street in 1916, when the site was bought by the Royal Bank of Canada. It was extensively renovated in 1967 and 1973, and the Royal Bank still operates the building to the present day.
